FOTOGRAFY FORK

Basics of Forking Fotografer
Our fotografic fork is of many tines.

City & its streets, countryside & its roads, architecture & its details, people & [ their ]
nature, four legged companions & their Zoo brothers +++

The sunny side of being a forking fotografer: we never get bored. The cloudy side: they say, we are hard to identify with a particular photographic genre.

Travel bugs
We love to travel, no matter where to. We enjoy both the city and the nature.

When we’re 64
By then we might trade our fork for a chopstick.

B + B + B

Over 7 million of Swarovski crystals are being used as a main ingredient for Bergdorf Goodman's 2015 holiday season window decoration.
Brilliant idea, "Brilliant" theme, brilliant store front.

They Lure Us Inside

Our NYC Christmas Department Store Decoration Contest
short list is not too long.

Whizzing by Macy's, through packed Herald Square,
a sharp turn around Lord & Taylor,
by Winter Village at Bryant Park,
through seemingly impenetrable swarm at Rockefeller,
to our 2nd on 5th : Saks.

Comparing to fashion, Noël windows appeared bleak;
long line around the corner of 50th might have a different
opinion.

Past freshly looking St. Patrick, past Harry Winston's icicles,
synching our phone clock with Trump's, to our frontrunner:
Bergdorf Goodman
A sigh of relief: another Sterling Cooper ("Mad Men") did not take
over their windows campaign.

"The Dozen Windows Show" is on on the 5th, standing room only.

The show must go on !

Windows photo shopping ( Part 1 )

(Part 1 or 2. Continued here.)

It is this time of the year when we indulge in window photo shopping.

Winter themes are everywhere: maneuvering through crowds brings images
of slalom superimposed on waiter’s race ( aka Kellner Wettlauf ) with precious
gear to be safely delivered to an illusory location from which an image has to be
taken while the light is just right.

Best shopping, it says, is along 5th Ave. Best windows photo shopping is on short stretch from Pulitzer Fountain (bequeathed to the city of New York by the founder of yellow press, whose annual award deemed by the media so prestigious) to, ideally, Lord & Taylor.

This leg of the race starts with Sherry Netherland Hotel and its a la Vieille Russie tenant, chic Ritz, Bergdorf Goodman with competing Bulgary (sharing The Crown Building with Playboy), Trump Tower leaning on Tiffany, Henri Bendel overlooking former location of the Disney flagship store, triumvirate

of Wempe, Swarovski and Lindt, passing the baton to Takashimaya (hijacked by Forever 21),
Elizabeth Arden and the ghost of Fortunoff, Cartier, Versace, dramatically finishing, not without
St. Patrick’s blessing, at SaksRockefeller.

Bergdorf Goodman stands out of the fancy bunch.

Its reflection of the City is unique, reflecting its unique position in the city.

Eventually, we derived the law of perceptive reflection, which says that:
for a SPE[CTA]CULAR reflection the angle at which you incidentally view the city equals the angle of

your attitude towards it.
