Bergdorf Goodman's winter holiday display "To New York with love" is on view now.
There is everything, from old-school papier mâché to new-age video.
Each window is a love letter to New York.
Each window is a story inspired by the city’s greatest cultural institutions like Brooklyn Academy of Music, Museum of the Moving Image, New York Botanical Garden, New-York Historical Society, American Museum of Natural History and New York Philharmonic.
Traditionally one story is told in a single material or color.
This year the window for the American Museum of Natural History reflects BG's tradition.
For those, who love math:
For the American Museum of Natural History display 7 fiberglass dinosaur skeletons were bejeweled with 1.5 million Swarovski crystal. It took 325 hours per dinosaur to apply the rhinestones.
Another BG's tradition is intentionally to overload the windows with too much of information.
David Hoey, Senior Director of Visual Presentation: "We want everyone to remember having a varied experience and pick their favorite."
Well, pick your favorite !
